Legionella Bacterium is one of the main problems and one of the biggest challenges facing water disinfection. The systems we supply and install are the most reliable and safest answer to this challenge thanks to their advanced Chlorine Dioxide (ClO2) generator and metering system capable of eradicating the risk of Legionella infection by removing even its breeding ground.

Chlorine Dioxide dosing systems use established technology to create Chlorine Dioxide (ClO2) within a sealed reaction chamber in order to deliver a controlled dose into the water system, ensuring no Chlorine Dioxide (ClO2) gas or solution exists outside of the sealed system.

Chlorine Dioxide (CLO2) exists in its pure form as a gas at room temperature, but physically dissolves killing micro organisms in the treated water.

There are several benefits to the use of chlorine dioxide (ClO2) and its treatment technology over that of chlorine (Cl). In addition to the control of Legionella and Bio film (which harbours the Legionella bacteria), Chlorine Dioxide (ClO2) also kills a wide range of other bacteria, E.Coli, Coliforms, Pseudomonas, Cryptosporidium, Giarda Cysts, Algae and Amoebae. Chlorine Dioxide (ClO2) is approved for the use in drinking water by the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) (<o.5ppm Total Oxidant).

Chlorine Dioxide (ClO2) has been shown to be more effective than Chlorine (Cl) in the control of the Legionella bacteria and Pseudomonas species. Due to the way it works Chlorine Dioxide (ClO2) will never lose its efficiency, which makes it an ideal residual biocide. Chlorine Dioxide (ClO2) is also less corrosive than chlorine (Cl), meaning that systems last longer and the risks of internal system degradation and damage to pipework are significantly reduced.
